Newsletter #001
My 3 Favorite Finds
Hello! And welcome to the maiden voyage of the ignosis newsletter, where I share my 3 most favorite data related finds from across the internet.
1 - Spotify Wrapped Normalizing User Data Collection?
I loved reading this perspective on how on one hand companies are vilified on data collection practices, whereas Spotify has seemed to cracked the code on how to gain user acceptance of data collection.
2 - Tech Layoffs in 2022
This year has been the year of tech layoffs. What started as a CEOs worst PR nightmare, it’s now seen as the status quo as thousands in the tech industry have lost their jobs. This chart does a good job of showing how drastically the layoffs grew over the year. Remember to help your fellow co-worker if they got recently laid off. Even a like on their LinkedIn profile can help their post have more visibility.
3 - How to Learn Anything
Learning something new isn’t the easiest thing, but this guy at Corridor Crew does a really good job of breaking his process down. Graphic designers have new technology coming out for them to use on a regular basis. I love seeing how someone from one industry learns, and then applying those concepts for myself. I hope this helps all of you on your data journey find a new process for learning!
Trending Data News, (in case you missed it):
The hottest new AI powered app, Lensa.
Google says passwords are on their out, nice!
Twitter wants to force users to share their data to advertisers, yikes…
Apple is providing a new enhanced data encryption feature to iPhones and iPads, not bad!
And that’s it! Short, sweet, and simple. As I promised probably somewhere on my site, and/or in person. If you found this fun and interesting share it with a friend or co-worker!
